i've contacted a few places to get the restrictions out of my NSR 125, the mechanic down the road is asking for 60 quit and i am providing him all the documentation available on nsr125.com ( so hes a newbie at this, or for that reason nobody else could be trusted to be an NSR professional ). So i went to honda, nobody down there will do it except one honda retailer a bit far from my home but he is asking 160 quit. Assuming he will know all the restrictions ( ive got a 1999 model, so its electrically restricted as well, ive got parts off ebay, CDI unit and power valve etc). Should i get it done by Honda? the mechanic? Also will the price escalate if i give it to honda ( because he says he'll have to have a look but an estimate of 160 was given ). All the help highly appreciated.

PS: Please dont ask me to do it myself. Ima newbie, tried to do it once, dismantled the bike and never got to get it back togather, hence had to spent some money over it as well.

Why not get a haynes manual?
That should help you re: taking apart / putting together.

Otherwise go with honda if you can afford it.

Is your bike not UK spec??

i seem to recall the '99 model just has the intake and exhaust are restricted....

its only the EU eg. italy bikes that have all the rubbish with the CDI and 'restricted powervalve'.

to be honest the hardest bit of the job is removing the plate in the exhaust.
