Thought I would recomend a book for you all to read.

Its called 'Lois on the Loose' by Lois Pryce who decided to pack in her mundane job at the Beeb and travel down the entire west coast of North and South America. Starting from Anchorage in Alaska and travelling down to Ushuaia, which is a village on the most Southern tip of Argentina, and all on a Yamaha XT225 Serow!

Her only other experience with bikes is just riding old BSAs' and other British classics.

It's really well written - almost in a Brigette Jones diary kind of way.

About half way through at the moment. I think its better than the 'Long way Round' (so far!)

Just the title is enough for me never to buy it.

Does she get a shag out of it?

Only joking, I've heard of the book but didn't know what it was called to go out and buy it.

I hope she is fit though. They could make the film...... 1000 shags in a 1000 miles.

I read the book over 3 days (bloomin fast for me!). Can safely say I loved it, would recommend it to anyone, ok it's not gonna be a number 1 best seller, but still funny and intresting.
Cheers

The day I bought my new helmet, I was listening to the radio on my way to HG, and she was on Excess Baggage on Radio 4, along with Ted Simon, and Ken Ball (head of a bike touring club). Sounded quite interesting. She's married to a guy who also does bike touring for a living.

She's married to Austin Vince of Mondo Enduro fame. I was fortunate enough to go round to their place for a cup of tea once, before I ever learned to ride. They're a lovely couple, fascinating conversation, and probably one of the major reasons why I learned to ride.
