Do you have a certicate saying your bike is restricted
Question

Guessing your on a restricted licence (33bhp)?

Also if police have recorded your details you would have to try get the restriction certifcate (but with a date of a few days before you got caught). If you have one for a week after you got caught the police will know that you were riding without any restriction.

Then your insurance company could try use that as a right to terminate your policy and if they find out after (hope not) you have had an accident they wont insure damage to your vehicle (might cover third party though).

Failing to comply with white lines. TS20, 3 points.

Driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, LC20. 3-6 points.

Well, if you're still restricted, I presume you are still in your probationary period. Oh dear.

You'd better hope said copper is too busy to check up on the restriction or it looks like you're doing your test again.

Ok what officially recognised legal document is a restriction certificate?

You don't need one, the bike just 'has' to be 33BHP.

Get over to www.pepipoo.com and do some in depth reading.

I got a NIP through the post for crossing double white lines a couple of years ago and threw it the bin and never heard another thing.

Ask them to prove it was not restricted at the time. I don't see how they could.

Absolutely sure it was those ones and not a solid white line or a solid line next to a double?

If it was a broken white you're perfectly entitled to cross it.

What paperwork did he give you? Were you cautioned (you have the right to remain silent etc.)? Did he mention reporting you for any offences? Was he by himself? Was there a camera in the car?

How did he know it was full power? I'm guessing you told him you was on a restricted licence & he pressumed it was full power?

Ok only way they can check your bike is on a dyno, chances are they wont bother, it will go to court and it will be a case of showing your lisence and walking away from that one. Had police try to do me for that and most judges dont have a clue so just see and a lisence and ok it. But if you had to at a rush find a dyno station and ask them to get a printout saying 33bhp.

Well, beginning to sound like he's trying to put the shitters up you.

Did he give you a producer/check your documents? Were you breathalysed (I've never been stopped when they intended to prosecute and not been breathalysed)?

1) What did he pull you for? He wouldn't just pull you to say you were speeding but couldn't prove it. I sense more to this story...??!!

2) As said the picture you have posted is of broken white lines and therefore not an offence to cross.

3) You took your chances with not restricting the bike as many others do, now you may have to pay the price.

Yer got a 7 day document thing. But he was so close to taking my bike but i said i had passed my test over 2 years ago and he called the bike specialist and that gye said i had to be 21 to even bee riding that bike. And then he called back and said " eeerrr actually if he has had his full licance over 2 years he could drive it". And then he bought my story about having a full licance over 2 years, i think he got confused with my cbt passing date Laughing

Well, don't count your chickens. There could still be an NIP for driving without due care winging its way to you if you were riding like a twat.

They might catch up with you on the licence thing but probably not. What you have said confirms that even many traffic cops are pretty ignorant as to the regulations regarding motorcycle licences.
