My rgv is a 1991 model and goes like shit off a shovel but just need that little bit more kick on it. The bike is amazing for a 250 and wastes 500cc motorbikes it's top i've got out of it is about 150mph. I have been thinking about the rg500 engine conversation post your coments and tell me what you think i should do Twisted Evil and any other mods i can get done.

Hi mate, welcome to the forum.... not to piss on your chips or owt but 150mph???? Fatest RGV250 i've heard of, and I thought Suzuki speedo's were fairly accurate, unless it has been tuned???

If it does 150mph like you say it does, then why mod it??? The next step is a bigger bike, and with it being a stroker I wouldn't go fucking about with it, they're known for unreliabiltiy as it is, unlike 4 strokes.

If ya gonna spend money on it get parts like exhausts and stuff, which will add a bit more power throughout the rev range, but don't go for any engine converstions, not really worth it IMO.

then main thing i'v learnt about 2 strokes in the last 3 years is if u fuck with them they fuck u up,
at least if u have a four u can turbo it !!!
A stock bike with a turbo will piss all over a tuned up nitro bike easy,
and turbos make engines around 150% efficent

SUZUKI HAYABUSA
In 1999, Suzuki introduced the baddest bike on the planet at the time, the Hayabusa GSX-1300R. This bike replaced the long standing performance record of the Honda Blackbird, and was the first production bike to break the 190 MPH barrier and run into the nine second range.
Mr. Turbo is the first manufacturer in the U.S. to introduce a turbocharger system for this two wheeled rocket, and using their system you can easily make 180 to 300 horsepower with the twist of a wastegate screw! Just think what this already awsome bike would be like with an extra 100 horsepower!

I gota get me one when i get my new bke Laughing

The RG500 conversion is certainly an interesting and cool idea, but it has its problems. Getting an RG500 motor into a 93-96 RGV frame aint too difficult, as there is a purpose made conversion kit for this bike now. It aint gonna be cheap, though, and finding a decent RG motor wont be so easy. If you have to rebuild one then its gonna cost £££'s just in engine parts alone. There are a few people that have done it, and some of the bikes look so cool, but what they are like to live with i dunno.
have you seen (www.suzuki-rg500.com) I know a guy down under that is currently doing a conversion on a 96RGV, and he has some pics that i could post, if your interested. One prob that i thought of with a 500 RGV is that with that small 14 ltr tank the tank range would be abismal, especially with a tuned to the hilt RG motor installed. One guy with a 130bhp RG only gets about 8mpg, which probably dont take him past the nearest petrol station without filling up again! If you wanna do it tho, then good luck, but dont waste time fucking about with an RGV 250 engine, as it aint worth the hassle.

Ill try an sort out the pics that he sent of his bike, as for performance well a std RG500 can do nearly 150mph, so in a lighter more aerodynamic bike like an RGV then it should be 155-165mph at a guess, depending on the state of tune of the motor, and other considerations such as gearing etc. Whatever it does its likely to be kin mental to ride.
