WD40 to deal with the remaining rust, then a generous dose of chain lube right after a ride has always done the job for me. ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

Because the chain is pitted the rust will just keep building up the only thing you can do is slow the rust down,
ie take the chain off (if poss)clean it with a good chain cleaner and treat it with rust remover (Jenolite), be careful cos its prob an O-ring chain use a small panit brush,
Once treated, give it another clean and wipe off
Put it back on the bike and keep it really coated with a good chain WAX not OIL as it sticks more
This should give you the rest of the year without any probs as long as you keep putting the wax on
Hope this is of help |
