Rusty brake

Right my bike was stood for a fair old while, were talking 8months +..

And the rear brake became quite rusty in that time, the front brake discs look untouched. Now i thought if i used my back brake frequently the rust would be worn down, if you know what i mean.

But so far its done absolutely nothing, theres nothing wrong with the stopping power of the disc, its just the fact that its rusty and they arent supposed to be.

depends on the serverity of the rust.

I'd say gently using the rear brake will gently grind that rust down overtime, not 100% as only ever done it with drum brakes.....

OR maybe disk break cleaner could help? again not 100% sure...
