Hey,

Ive just rebuilt my GPZ400R and its due to have its MOT. There is nothing wrong with the bike, but im slightly worried about the front forks.

They seem to me to be far too solid. They have the correct oil level in them and newly fitted and working anti-dive units. When i pull the brake and push down on the forks they go down a few inches then return but are still quite solid. Im hoping its the just the anti-dive units doing there job but im not convinced.

My question is will the bike fail an MOT with very stiff suspension?

Cheers,
Shaun.

Could the anti dive be stopping the forks compressing because your holding the front brake on? Try bouncing it with the front brake released.

Tester should test anti-dive forks with the brakes off and the front wheel up against the wall. The whole purpose of anti-dive forks was to stop the forks diving when the front brakes are on, thus keeping the bike from pitching to and thow. Simply it uses the front brake hydraulics to lock the forks.
