 |
|
Just wondering what you guys use to apply copper slip to the backs of brake pads, bolts, etc.
For brake pads, I smear copper grease onto a tissue and wipe it on, to prevent contamination from my fingers on the pad material.
Any more elegant ways of doing things like this?
Cheers,

Just to add for anyone else, I got my grease on Ebay from here £3.99 and free delivery. If I remember correctly it came next day courier too so how they make any money on it I don't know. ____________________ the undemocratically unelected mod of the Scottish section |

I don't put anything on my pads just stick em in. If you use copaslip just smear it on sparingly with your finger. Remember that using copaslip with dissimilar alloys can actually cause seizing so dont smaother it all over the place or it might get into the gap between the caliper pistons and the caliper. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

No, just where the piston makes contact with the back of the pad. ____________________ Andy Sez....

For bolts I just dunk the tip of them in, and when you screw the bolt into the item it tends to spread it over the whole thread of the bolt. For pads etc I'd just smear it on with my finger
Went to someone's house last week, for some reason he decided to use copper grease on the spring bolt on his gate. I went to open it and ended up with a nice brown greasy hand |
