This off road ban is unbelievable...

in our area a massive amount of off-road bikes have now been confiscated, and believe it or not, the 'police' who go around trying to catch these guys are riding around on brand new scramblers themselves...

Here at the big bike shop we have a weekly off-raod bike meet (every wednesday night) concerning these matters, so please come along if you can to support the cause..

The bill was thrown out of parliament at the end of August.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Thank you for your recent enquiry about Graham Stringer's Private Members' Bill relating to the registration of off-road vehicles.

Following a Public Bill Committee Session, Mr Stringer withdrew the Bill on 11 July. The Government acknowledged that Mr Stringer raised serious issues and is committed to ensuring that these are tackled effectively.

That commitment resulted in the establishment of an interdepartmental taskforce that will undertake a review which will consider all the issues raised, including the powers currently available, and identify whether further legislation might be required.

The taskforce will convene in the autumn, with a view to producing an interim report by Easter 2008. This is likely to be laid in the House of Commons library and circulated to relevant stakeholders. Thumbs Up
