hello,

i've just got the engine sorted out with a full set of new gaskets, inluding the head, so everything should be nice and tight.....

just wondering, what is the running in procedure for this sort of thing?

i've been sitting at low revs for the past 60 miles ( below 5K ), but how long do i have to keep this up for???

cheers

If you have just had new gaskets then there is no running in period.
But if you have had an engine re-build with new parts fitted e.g bearings / piston rings etc then follow the mechanic or person who did the supplying of the new parts instructions TO THE LETTER or if you get a problem you will be up shit street with-out a paddle or a working bike!

i had a blown head gasket, so the engine was full dismantled, so no new parts bar the gaskets.........

the mech said to keep the revs low for a bit, just wondered if there was any written formula..

The head may need torquing down again after a few hundred miles also.
