Hi all,

I went out for a quick drive yesterday, when I was heading home I went to change gear, pulled in the clutch and it suddently lost all tension in lever.

I know have to pull the handle right in to get the bite point and before the bite it is very loose.

I'm not too up on bike mechanics so was wondering if anyone has any suggestions to the problem.

I do have a haynes manual but seem to have misplaced it Rolling Eyes

Cheers

Is there any slack in the cable?

Sounds like you'll need a new clutch cable mate...

You didn't let the fluid run low did you? If so add some more and bleed it. Otherwise it sounds like a seal has gone.

The ZXR has a hydraulic clutch.

The clutch master cylinder is the small one infront of the speedo (if you didn't guess or know). As mentioned before, check the fluid level may just be low or maybe sprung a leak.

Check the adjusters too, maybe the clutch lever adjuster has changed Confused causing the different biting point.

thanks for the replies!

by looking at the master cylinder i think the fluid may be quite low, I take it that means I must have a leak?

It needs to be serviced anyway so suppose i'll need to add this to the fix up list along with fork seals and brake discs Rolling Eyes the joys!
