Thinking of heading out there for a holiday sometime in July. Looking for nice weather, beaches and good food.

Has anyone been there and can recommend which area to head for?

Thanks.

Have a gander at this mate: https://wikitravel.org/en/Croatia
Friends of the family went last summer, really enjoyed themselves and said it was fantastic, though they mostly stayed around Zagreb and Dubrovnik. Thumbs Up

We went to Pula and Porec area some years ago.

A very picturesque area as I remember it, with countryside and old historic towns, but also with loads of watersports etc available at the resorts. I took the opportunity to have a go at canoeing and wind surfing at the time, mainly because it was so much more affordable (and obviously better weather) than in the UK.

I also remember sunning myself, and noticed the inviting smell of smoked fish being cooked on an open barbeque. The restaurants were really good quality, and at a fraction of UK prices (about £30 for a carvery or platter meal for a family of four, including drinks).

I went to Porec on the Itrian peninsula about 6yrs ago. It ewas lovely, beaches are stony so used the pool mostly. Lovely old buildings, nice food and you can take a day trip to Venice which is well worth doing.

I have heard Croatia is a seriously underrated holiday destination and I am planning to go there myself!

I doubt he walked around in Croatia with his rifle.

I went there on leave from Bosnia myself some years back.

Nice people, cheap beer, pretty women.

Couldnt ask for more.
