After a few people mentioned Bandits suspension is pants I decided to check mine.
How do you know when its fluffed!?
Today I sat to leave work like normal - Side stand still down, bike was up right - stood to ajust my pants lol sat back down and heard a clunk (side stand hitting floor) with the bike upright. ive not noticed it do it before - plus when upright the side stand it a far bit from the ground.

Is it too 'soft' or just done in?

When I take passengers the bike dips really low.

How old is the bike?

afaik there sealed units, if its an earlyer model maybe its gone a bit over use and abuse, allthough my 25 year old air suspension shock is still perfectly ok after 30k.. usually you'd see leakage if its completely stuffed, the dampening is what you'd loose, so it'd be like a 2wheeled trampoline sort of ride..

maybe try adjusting the preload and see if that helps? guess to know you'd need to try a newer bandit and see if thats the same..

hagon do replacements for everything, if its really bothering you maybe worth a new shock, or getting something a bit nicer, some companys may be able to rebuild rear shock units?

edit: if you have it bottoming out as your going along you'll know it, then its defenately new shock time
