Just thought i'd remind ppl of this event. I was gonna go last year but as usual my RS125 didn't agree Ive posted some details on the northeast user group but wondered if anyone else is going as its just south of the humber bridge. If u want more info there's loads on websites to find if u just run a search.
Here's some i found earlier (blue peter style)
Wednesday 14 July, 6-10pm
BARTON BIKE NIGHT
High Street, Fleetgate, George Street and Chapel Lane, Barton-upon-Humber.
A social evening for motor cycle enthusiasts, but thousands of fascinating bikes, food and entertainment. Roads closed, not to be missed by anybody!
On a more serious note, take it easy and don't get a head of your selves. Ken a lad of 21 who owned an R6 and lived across the road from me died last wednesday and leaves many friends and family behind, if anyone has any info on the accident please contact the police as its quite suspicious. The accident took place on a straight piece of countryroad 5 min from where we live, where ken and his bike were found in a field on friday

Erm? I am a little confused!
I think the 14th of july is a friday, but if you mean the 10th of july then I might go, but I might be going to the Lincolnshire Bike Night, Sun Inn, North Wheatley.
But might go to the barton one yet, depends on if scoobys bike is fixed I suppose!!
More info on lincolnshire meets here!!

Okay so anyone still goin to this?
Me n Nige went for a ride out to Barton on Sunday, just to see where it was etc. Do they just close the town down or is it held at a certain pub?Information seems to suggest it is the whole town that is involved
Anyway maybe see someone there! ____________________ "Unlike public school you don't need to have your arse up and your head down to go a long way...." |

I just read MCN. This night sounds amazing
<quote from MCN>
EIGHT thousand bikers are expected to descend on Barton-on-humber for a bike night unlike any other. Huge barriers will be erected to keep cars out as the entire town opens up to motorcyclists only.
How cool is that! Dont see that every day do ya.
Think I am gonna HAVE to go now. just hope the weather is okay! ____________________ "Unlike public school you don't need to have your arse up and your head down to go a long way...." |

Yeah you were right. The town was packed with bikers and the locals, so much so it was almost impossible to find the bikes.
some pictures can be found here!

Barton was ace, loads of stalls, pubs, babes, bands, bikes and no cars!!! except i didn't have much money to buy 'out (damn clutch). it all went really well except for a couple of things:
1) as we were leaving me and my mate pulled over to ride with our other mates in a big group, this was after queing on the roads for about half an hour to get out of barton and when ever we stopped on the way i would kill my engine and quickly restart it unlike my mate who didn't. Anyway as we pull over my mates zxr400 go 'sploossshhh' and steam and water starts pissing out of his fairing he quickly jumps off (it very hot) to have a look, then walks round it and stupidly takes tthe radiater plug off!!!!! BANG!!! steam and boiling water sprays all over him, we took him to the parimedics and he's OK just light burns. Oh and it was leaking cos the high pressure had caused a hose to come loose (luckily not as broken radiater)
2) another mate who was going to barton had his fairing wrecked earlier that day!! his £600 Rossi paint job on his vfr was ruined cos he didn't fasten it properly around the bellypan section so it was caught in the wind and ripped off then runover by his back wheel
I think theres a couple of lessons there for us all.
My fav things were, the bimota sb8r (all carbon, druel ) a single sided swingarmed blade (with loads of extras) and that yellow side car racer, oh and riding home in a group of about20+ bikes on the dual carrigeway |

Me n Nige were parked just round the corner at the garage. Parked up as soon as we could coz my ickle VFR was getting a bit warm (hot)
Was cool riding back home for us too, kept catching up with slower riders and kept getting past by faster nutters!
The last bit of my ride home was cool, I followed a GSXR750 until the last bit of my ride home when he pulled over and stopped with another group of about 10 bikers, which were pulled over in a lay-by.
Overall a great night! ____________________ "Unlike public school you don't need to have your arse up and your head down to go a long way...." |
