Laughing

Casually doing a nice rolling stoppie up to some traffic lights showing off as i normally do, when a small kitten came in to my view and i squeezed extra hard on the front break. Cue the bike flipping and me rolling over the front of it Rolling Eyes

Im ok, slight pain in my left wrist. Bikes a bit worse off, scratches down left and on rear, mirror snapped, clutch lever bent, rear set bent and somthing seems to rub against the chain.

Cheers to the guy in the people carrier i had just wheelied past for stopping and helping me out and not holding a grudge Thumbs Up (Though you did nearly make me drop my bike when you were attempting to help me move my bike, i can move it on my own thankyou.)

Since the time i dropped my bike due to leaving the disc lock on i have no respect for it at all. Where do i go from here?

I was enjoying the best ride ive had in a long time, gettin to know some local roads with my knee down on pretty much every corner, wheelieing away from the slower ones. But its this that makes me annoyed at myself for not having respect for the bike that could get my self in to trouble on.

Ive thought about new bikes, but my bikes now been down on both sides and its not worth enough to sell for a decent amount now. So i got to keep it, but with me having next to no respect for it, where will i end up...!

So how short was the skirt this kitten was wearing then Razz Or was it the low cut top that did it....

Lets face it, no matter what it was, just splat it. Mind you you could always put in a ins claim if it has walked into the toad without looking... Sad

Me thinks the PC guy is on a few free drinks tonite, when he tells his mates.

Why do you have no respect for it? In what sense do you mean?

Do you mean that you have no respect for it because its not what you want and its an inferior peice of machinery...

Or that you dont have any respect for it in the sence that you just dont care what happens to it?

If its the first, then i simply laugh at you sir Laughing Bikes have more than the average rider will ever be able to come close to using, and the fact that you are still dropping it shows that you have not yet learnt the bike well enough to make such an accusation against it.

However,

If you mean it in the second sense, then fair enough Laughing It will probably end up like my GS500 did, scratches all over the place, random colours just to keep it going, skimping on everything and it will probably end up with you having a bike thats next to dead after a few months, you wont be able to sell it, and you wont want to look at it Laughing

Its a bit of both. I can easily handle the bike in normal situations, had pegs down of regular occasions, rear wheel squirming on the exits etc and am a good road reader. I can happily keep up with 'fast riders' on their favourite roads when ive never seen the road before.

But i do also take less and less care with the bike, last summer i would barely take the risk of lifting the rear an inch, let alone going in to a full rolling stoppie 4 days after im back on the bike Laughing

wow what a tit....but not half the tit i am..
i had my rear wheel overtake the front wheel while practising wheelies after a whole 2 months on the road with my cbr600.
Cue exhaust hitting the floor, me doing a superman while holding onto the bike till the last second and then doing a few rolls down the road all the while worrying about the damage to my bike. lost all the left hand side, front and rear fairings but the engine was saved by the R&G.

Silly thing is, as soon as its back on the road ill be trying just as much stupid shit (tho where nobody can see me!)

we live and learn.....then die and forget it all i guess!

These little kittens in the road get in all the best stories.
Some people just fall off, some it was the red Ferrari I just owned that hit me, some it is kittens, rabid dogs ( can't be a normal dog it has to be rabid ) Just waite a few days and the kitten will get cuter, the length of the stoppy longer.
cynical I may be, but seen it ssssssssssoooooooooooo many times when a simple fall off becomes something that should have been written by Billy Wagglestick.
