About 4 weeks ago my headlight blew, then about a week later my tail light blew. Now my headlight only allows high beam but no low beam or parkign light.

What could cause this to keep happening? Im using the bulbs that it states in the manuals.

Or am I just being unlucky with the bloody things. Evil or Very Mad

Cheers, Mike

Hi

Would suspect a dodgy battery might be the original cause of the blowing bulb.

All the best

Is there any other signs I should look out for while riding to see if it is the battery?

Cheers, Mike

Hi,

The bulbs have two filaments. If one of the headlight filaments has

blown then this could of caused your tail light to blow. Happened

to me; my main headlight filament blew, caused by tail light to blow

but not my parking light.

Have you checked the bulbs? If not, first thing to do!

Check the water level on the battery first (assuming it is a conventional battery).

All the best

Well replace the blub firstly.

Are you saying this isnt the first time the bulb has blown.

How many times has it blown? And in what time period?

First time my headlight bulb blew was around 4 weeks ago. So this new bulb has been in since then.

I will check everything again in morning as my eyes were bloody tired looking at it in garage earlier. So I may have made a stupid mistake when looking at the bulb when taking it out.

o right.

Wont hurt to check the earths also. Are you sure that your rear light and brake light are both working?

When it happened to me, only my brake light worked Confused and not
my rear light. So at night i was quite invisible.

As i said though check that all the lights are working, and earths and if they are all ok, then start looking at other things. Like kickstart said, battery etc.

best of luck

You didn't touch the glass on the headlight bulb did you any time? Halogen bulbs overheat with anything touching the glass envelope, even the oil/grease of your finger.

Right...I've looked at the bike this morning, theres actually nothing wrong with any of th bulbs (yes, im a blind bastard).

Checked the battery...seems fine, the fluid is on the upper level line.
Thought I'd check the fuse as well and nothing wrong with that either. OOO how fun

Any other ideas to what it could be? I've already been told about the regulator, how easy are they to replace? Confused

EDIT: Well I've just looked over the bike again just incase something else was missed while looking earlier, and found this disconnected wire:

Any ideas to what it should be connected to, I've looked over the wiring diagram but it didn't help much coz of the crap quality of it.
https://img231.imageshack.us/img231/9438/dsc00229wm5.jpg

Found nothing on the bike that it could possibly connect to Confused
