Shot blasting is too aggressive for use on engines, especially alloy casings. Look for a company that specializes in bead blasting or even better, vapour blasting. The vapour blast process leaves a superb finish on casings, as good, if not better than the day they were cast.

For blasting the engine MUST be completely stripped, despite what anyone else may tell you, and must be scrupulously cleaned before reassembly to ensure that no blast media is left in oilways etc. Prices vary between operators, try a google search.
