Im new to all this side so please be nice Razz

Right, after i got caught speeding, im waiting to see if im going to lose my licence or not. The thing is, if i lose my licence, will i be able to get a race licence or something along the lines of that. Will i still be able to take part in trackdays and the likes?

Also how much does it cost, id be using my CBR4 and was wondering, if all else is well, how much it would cost to get it up to spec. I dont want to lose the ability to ride altogether and was always planning on doing trackdays.

Cheers in advance

You can't do trackdays without a license, and only some accept an ACU license. You can't get an ACU license unless you're a member of a racing club (like BMCRC also known as Bemsee) and I've got a feeling that it will lapse unless you do some races.

Might be wrong though.

If you want a trackbike you're better off selling the road legal CBR4 and buying a ready made trackbike. It also means you're less likely to ride it on the road, because it won't look like a road bike!

So in less than a month after passing your A2, you are in danger of losing it due to speeding?

Its unlikely that they will accept this as the licence is both parts and must be presented when ever asked.

How are you going to drive a van without a license?

When you lose your license, you lose your whole license, not just the bike part.

A Greek friend of mine told me that they have two seperate licenses and if they lose the bike license, they can still drive a car!! However it isn't the case in the UK.

I could swear I read on here, when the courts request your licence so they can revoke it (or whatever they do with it) you can tell them you've lost it, so the DVLA send you another one so you have two in total, send one off to the courts and you still have a licence to give to the people at the trackday. You'd need someone to transport your bike for you though.

That could all be a load of bollocks, though.

Call up and get a duplicate copy of your license, costs like £20 or something, just say you've lost both parts and you can do it all over the phone. Then use your new copy to give to the courts and keep your old one so you can still do trackdays. I have done this and with recent events I glad I did. Oh and your bike will be fine on track as standard, I was doing ok in inters on my old CBR4 and the suspension was shot, a decent set of rearsets will help though just to get rid of the little 400's ground clearance issue.
