So, how many of you actually got Facial/Ear piercings. I used to have my lip done in 3 places aswell as my lower ear done, had no problem with a helmet. But as soon as I got my upper ear cartalidge done, thats when the trouble start, most painful experience i've had in a very long time. 3 days after having it done I had to take it out because it was so painful(I was actualy in tears because it was red raw from how little it healed, if anything it had been torn very slightly from taking the helmet on and off). Trying to get the helmet on and off atleast 6 times a day was agony. What I want to know is how many of you feel that a helmet interfears with a eyebrow piercing. I can't say i've noticed the helmet brush up against it. Views?

Obviously it will hurt if it's a new piercing. Any unhealed piercing will hurt if it is irritated by constant physical contact. Try covering it up with a plaster or something.
I would never recommend taking your piercing out until it has healed though, personally, as it's much more likely to get infected and/or close up on you. I did that with my left ear piercing—took it out at about 3 weeks and it got all orrible and didn't heal up for ages.
I wear 1.6*10mm circular barbells in each ear and don't have any problems, but my ears have been pierced for about three years.

I can understand that piercings are fine if their healed totaly before the use of a helmet. But how about a piercing that's rarely touched, reacon it would heal fine in the moist warm environment of a helmet? I used to have 2 eyebrow piercings when I was about 15, but my ex girlfriend accidently pulled them out Razz Wasn't pleasent. I want to go for the eyebrow again.

Well if your ear isn't rubbing up against the lining of your helmet, then your helmet doesn't fit properly. So it will be irritated, which obviously won't help healing up.
If you cover it up though, it should be alright. Personally I'd make sure to use the cleaning solution you can buy at piercists regularly.

Never been tempted by eyebrows. Bet they'd get in the way more than your ear piercing in a helmet though Doh!

Ive got my eyebrow pierced and have had it peirced for allmost 4 years now i think.

Obviously any new piercing is going ot hurt so be carefull with it, but once its fully healed then it will be fine. My lid does not interfear with my peircing at all.

Oh and the title reads like your talking about prince alberts Laughing

My helmet seriously rubbed up against my ear lol. I even tried wearing a bandana and once a beanie hat, both made it hurt more for some reason. Ah well as current I got no piercings. So far in my life i've wasted £175 on piercings i've taken out Razz Kinda sucks. On tuesday i'll get my eyebrow done, with any luck it won't interfear with my helmet. I miss having metal in my face Sad

It shouldn't interfere once your helmet is on, but getting it on yer head unless you have a flip will hurt like shit probably and may tear it out.

Have fun Wink

Thumper ear cartlidge or any cartlidge for that matter with a piercing takes a loooong time to heal.
Add on top of that fact, that you are as said puting it in a tight place where it is going to rub and be irritated plus a warm and often moist environment.
All of these things are not a good way to start a new piercing.

Ive had my upper ear done for probably 15 years now, stretched a few times but it still gives me grief from time to time.
Its just the nature of the beast.

My eyebrows I catch now and then when puting my helmet on.
Other than that all of my other stuff rubs now and then. Just enough for me to know its there.
When its real cold I often get bit of pain if I have metal jewelry in my septum, which is a very rare occasion now though.

My labret I get a bit worried about if I ever have an accident and have my helmet pushed against my face.
Oh well might be the last of my worries then

I didn't have any problems with my lip piercing when I put a helmet on, then again they were completely healed. They never rubbed at all anyway. Main concerne was just how well a eyebrow piercing would heal up. Ah well on tuesday i'll find out.

piercing, ye have ear done, but recenty been taking it wider so maybe one day I can have to tube (yes I am trying to scare people away !)
After going up sizes it's been sore on and off but found if it pulled on the side of the ear piercing when putting on and off sometimes helps.
my ex was into piercings, she thought the nose with the most painful and in the way then the top ear, but then she didn't have to pop a helmet over it Smile

Could you cover up your whole esr in some way ,no idea what with tho !

I used to have my eyebrow pierced, took it out because it never fully healed and I'm sure pulling a helmet on and off over it every day was the main reason. Also fundamentally it was just more trouble than it was worth, got in the way all the time, very easy to catch when getting dressed etc

I was considering a scaffold piercing and send a PM to White Noise off here who has the same I think, and he wears a balaclava under his helmet which helps him. Not sure if this will be different to your hats and bandanas and stuff.

No idea if his was healed before he started riding though.

When I had my double eyebrow piercing I didn't find they got caught when I was getting dressed and stuff. Never had a problem with them until my ex pulled them out. I'm just curious as to now would it get caught on helmet. Wonder if i'd experience the same problem as your missus t121anf

I have six piercing sin my ears, all but one were old before I started wearing a helmet when I was 16. 4 years later the then newish one still wont settle and has to be removed everynow and again.

Wearing a balaclava is a HUGE help as it stops yours ears folding funny when putting the lid on and the helmet pulling/pressing on them as the balaclava shares out the pressure over the whole of the ear.

As you can see from the picture the silver hoop make my ear red, I've only just put it back in about an hour ago. Really really hurts when I catch a comb in it Crying or Very sad the blue hoop.. doesnt matter at all I can pull that as hard as I like and not feel a thing.

balaclava is a god send though Thumbs Up
