Hi,

Even though ive dished out a fair bit of correct advice on what 16y r olds can and cant drive, i'm a little confused regarding those above 16.

My understanding (which i now believe to be incorrect) was that once you turn 17 having completed a CBT etc, you could ride a bike upto 125cc. I think im quite mistaken, i tried reading the direct gov website but i just seem to be getting my self more confused lol....Brick Wall

EDIT: Ok just remembered 'Phannys guide to newbie biking'
Had a read and it says i can ride up to a 125cc on L Plates.
I am correct in saying this yes?

Many thanks
Liam

At 17 you can ride a 125 motorcycle or scooter. As long as you have a valid cbt.

If you completed your cbt at 16, you can automatically ride a 125cc, even if you took your cbt on an automatic.

Thems the rules ^^

At 16 you can ride a 50cc. Once you turn 17 it's up to 125cc and no more than 14.6BHP. There's also a power to weight ratio limit as well.
