Just got myself an all singing dancing new PC but it also came with a nVidia 7500LE Graphics cards which doesn't seem great.....

In my old machine I had a Ge-force MX440 which done a nice 94fps rate on CS:S but my new machine...........17fps?!?! FFS.....

How easy is it to upgrade a graphics card and which one should I go for?

The 7500 is a pile 'o' poop, if your computers new it should have a PCI-E slot Thumbs Up

How much you would like to spend and what OS your using?

Its running Vista, Dual Core machine, its plenty fast for everything else I need but was gutted at CS:S.

Do you know if my MX440 will slot into my new machine then?

Not wanting to go daft, a decent card will do me really. Thumbs Up

I doubt your old 440 will fit in your new computer as your using a PCI-E slot at the moment, the old 440 would use an AGP slot im sure.

If you want to speed up CS:S you could try putting the settings down to make it easer on the card, the old 440 would have been better as it uses older technology so some of the setting in CS:S would not have worked so the card would not have worried about it (if you get what i mean).

This new 7500 has all the new features to make the game look much better but has not got the grunt to do it quickly enough.

If your using Vista you could spend around £100-150 on a nVidia 8600GT/GTS and future proof your computer for a year or two.

Aye, the 8600GTS is a good card for the money and, while not the fastest pony at the track, will ensure your hardware's 100% compatible with all the fancy DX10 flotsam we'll be exposed to in the near future. Thumbs Up

Cheers guys, I'll have a look into that. Tried turning down the settings but never really made alot of difference so looks like a card upgrade. Thumbs Up
