GPS phones?

Not the Nokia N95 but I was looking around the net and found this:

https://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/10939.htm

I thought hmm turn me K800I into a GPS sort of device , with some sort of software
anybody actually done this , I don't generally do GPS as a normal prefering dead
reckoning but I seem to have been getting lost (part of biking) quite alot esp in
urban areas , esp areas I've never been before and think it might be useful as
a sort of YOU ARE HERE type GPS system rather than a spoon feeding turn left
turn right type affair since my dead reckoning skills got me within 1/8 mile of every
bike viewing this weekend.

Its just that anywhere I seem to want to go is also at a page edge of fold in the middle
of the A to Z, Also my orginal plan ie borrow a company PDA with GPS device has
hit a rut since PDAs are being withdrawn , some bright spark suggested data keys instead to plug into client machines instead.

I also hear TobyR has google maps on his too dunno what it really is though...

Any thoughts?

Ta

I've done it, thousands and thousands of people have, it's a fairly standard thing.

I've got Nokia n70 + Bluetooth gps thing (ebay china jobby) + tomtom software.

Works perfick and as good as an off the shelf tomtom product.

You can get it from tomtom.com, or wherever you want.

I recommend the MDA Vario (O2 - XDA Mini S) with the offishul tomtom bluetooth gps receiver.

Vario has touch screen so work like a generic tomtom device. Have it on the K800i because I can, but dont rate the key use of getting around the screens.

I use headphones when navigating on the bike. Nothing like Yoda guiding you to your destination by voice. Thumbs Up
