Did my CBT, rode my own 125 for 3 months without letting myself pick up bad too many habits. Then 2 full days DAS and an extra hour before my test, passed first time with no minors.

CBT. Then 2 lessons, 5 or 6 hours all together.

I did have a 125 though and I did read all the books and did about 2000miles in 3months.

I did a 5 day intensive DAS course starting with the CBT on the first day on a 125cc. (no previous experience).
Went onto 500cc the next day and after the 3rd day I would say it was mostly practice I needed in test situations for couple of days so worked out well.

You should have as much as you need to feel confident of passing the test really, there's no set rule on how many days you need.

One and a half days on a 500cc, with 10 months riding experience before hand (125 obviously). Passed first time, 3 minors.

3 half-days on the 125 to my first test (failed for leaving an indicator on), had their bike and did half a day "self-training" and half a day with instructor before my second test (failed, allegedly missed a vital lifesaver, I KNOW I didn't cos I used to talk myself through them Evil or Very Mad ) then another half-day "self-training" on their 125 and half a day with the instructor before my 3rd test (passed).

If you are going for a course or with an instructor I highly recommend finding one who offers a guaranteed pass scheme. None of my training or bike hire after the first test cost me a bean, I just had to pay for the test fees.

2 days but could have done it in less looking back at it. Probably 1 and a half days would have been ample.

But I had been riding about on my own on my 125 for a year and a half.

Passed first time with 2 minors.

Passed A2 about 3 months after passing my car test, hadn't ridden a geared bike before, needed about 9 hours training - 1 5 hour day, 2 2 hour lessons. Passed first time with 2 minors.
