And how long have you been on the road matey!?...relax, those L-plates are there for a reason (Question)...don't do anything that you're not comfortable or confident with...once you get more practice on the roads, you'll have better judgement of speed...

If ppl think that you're too slow, then that's their problem!...take it easy it mate, especially since you've binned it once already! Wink

if your knee aint down it's too slow Razz Smile

nah....

as tin said, it's other people's problem if they think you're going to slow.
A lot of factors come in to the speed you can go: ie tyre temprature, road temprature, tyre grippiness, rider confidence... etc, etc...

Especially as you've just stacked iy there's nothing wrong with taking it easy.

I think everyone expects bike's to be alot more careful around roundabouts- if someone pulls out in front of you while your leant over you can't just slam on the anchors like in a car.

depends on the roundabout, but i take town ones very slow and careful because the car drivers in the towns rouns here are cunt on roundabouts. motorway ones i take fast and then just use my superior accel to dance around when i need to get to an exit.

I started off by taking them slow and steady and I have unconcously gor faster and more balanced with time but not too fast - it helped once I loosend up and started putting weight on both grips. I also make sure that if there is a car driver on the left edging forward I maintain eye contact for long enough to make sure they know I am there!

on one of the rounderbouts near us the turn I take sometimes is a little awkward and I find if there is a lorry waiting to go over I have to let them know with extra handsignals that I am taking the odd turn and not going straight across. I learnt this aftera couple had charged across not noticing I was indicating left.

Like everyone has said, it really depends on the roundabout. Some are gravelly round the edges - so I tend to take these a LOT slower.

Also, in Telford (Dodd'll back me up!) there are far too many of the little blighters, and some are so small but covered in foliege you cant see the other side - go too fast round these and ou're asking to be hit by some dosey bint in a car - had one today AND I was taking it SLOOOOOWWW!

If its a nice big one...start at a speed comfy for you and crank it up as you're going round - that way you'll find where you are happy.
