Hello all, I have been off the road for a while now and really miss it. Being at uni I'm more than skint! I was looking at getting an old FZR600 or similar with messed up cosmetics and street fighter it (well not properly). Seemed a good idea until I looked for insurance! Quotes were around £1200 which I thought was silly and even though they were internet quotes I didn't think that they would be much better if rang round.
Any way, curiosity got to me again today and I found this site
https://www.insureyourbike.com/
OMG - Sooooo much cheaper, only thing is I'm not sure it can be true? I got quoted £336.23 on a FZR600 valued between 1000-500 with no no claims at 19? I mean there's a stupid amount of excess (500 quid) but still...
Another thing that confused me was if I put it's value to 500 or less it went up to £564.87 (but with only 250 pound excess)

Does this sound right to anyone? If so I may well be able to get my arse on the road again Very Happy

Joe

The full quote is currently in beta test. This means that we are still tweaking it.

You may encounter minor errors and a few small quote discrepancies.

ahh I see, however I tried quotes on a VFR400 and they were lower so there must be some consistancy?

Well, I got a ridiculously high price on there—£1280 for a £1999 1998 CBR600F, when I got around £700 from https://thebikeinsurer.co.uk.
That's at 18 with 0 NCB.

Cant recommend the bike insurer enough tbh.

sounds fairly ok. The price will go up if your excess is less.

You want to use that quote against other insurers now. Thumbs Up

Shocked That's very cheap! Over £100 less than my insurance, though it didn't ask about points...

So I suppose ym next question will be, anyone know of a cheap hack bike? (preferably something streetfighterish but beggars cannot be choosers)
Something like a FZR would be wicked mind
