Revenge worth it or not, discuss.

It is said that revenge is a dish best served cold , its been 16 months since an incident
at an old work place which made me phenomenally angry and bitter and still invokes
boiling rage when I think about it too deeply, it was just something that 'happened'
down south,

My question is as again , Revenge worth it or not?. My thoughts are its petty and childish
and generally should be forgotten , especially since the death threats to my old mates down
south stopped about 6 months ago.

but my Siggi side says that if they keep getting away with it this will just happen to more and more
poor sods and a line in the sand has to be drawn by somebody somewhere.

And we aren't talking about petty violence and vandalism or anything, HMRC/Immigration should
be very interested in what I know about those people.

And I have no good reason to be suspected as the culprit by those people of reporting them.Since
I've semi forged a new life elsewhere.

any thoughts?

Revenge is often worth it but sometimes the worst revenge is to do nothing and let the person live in fear. Just pop up in their life every now and then to remind them.

BUT if you want to do something big make sure its extreme, less likely to get caught in my experience.

Itchy - You haven't really said what it was about, maybe you can't discuss it on an open forum... Maybe you just don't want to, Thats up to you.

I think (personal opinion here) that it depends on the history.
Were it bad enough to eat into you for sixteen months, then I'm guessing it was relatively bad...

I would be inclined to do something, although I would want them to know it was me (even possibly going so far as to let them know - in some way shape or form that was legally untraceable back to me - that I was going to do something) as I don't think it would be as satisfying if they didn't know who was responsible or why it had happened!
Although this is likely to lead to more comebacks...

No one can decide for you as to whether it's worth the consequences - but you already know this.

Think you have to weigh up if the punishment fits the crime, and also think about any further retributions from your own actions, and will it be worth it.

Some people might think that if you go down the revenge route you wouldnt be any better than they are. But if everyone does nothing then obviously they will keep getting away with it. This isnt a dream world at the end of the day, people do bad things, some get away with it some dont. Some might say what right do you have to judge? but then again what right has those very same people to tell you that you cant? you're a living breathing concious individual you make your own decisions and you face the consequences.

To me revenge is a way to make the culprit understand the suffering they caused. A form of compassion i guess and although its not my right to force that on people its also not their right to harm people either.

There are many people who has done stuff to hurt me and the people i care about, but if i was to ever take revenge on them it would cause more harm than good, generally i let nature take its course on these indviduals. however I had something happen to someone i cared a hell of a lot about several years back, it tore many lives apart, the suffering that it caused and still does to so many people on top of that, friends, family and myself included. ive often thought about revenge on this person and the effects on the people around me by these actions. but still if i was to ever come across the person responsible i have decided that without a doubt i'd be willing to give everything in an instant to "punish" this person, jail or death for me, regardless of the consequences it would be worth it. Thats my decision, yeah it may appear very selfish of me but at the same time it may appear selfless to other people, thats their decision to make.

its your call.

Small point... 16 months on...

'Oh immigration... hmmm... i now know never to do what i did to ichy ever again...'

Would be the answer a week/2 weeks. After 16 months your not teaching a lesson, you're just being a git.

Long as you take the nobility out of it its fine. You want the personal satisfaction of headfucking a guy thats mugged you off. Fine. Perfectly normal.
But dont wrap it up as a favour to society.
