Seriously considering trading in my 2003 ZX6 for a GSX 1400 tomorrow. Does anyone here own one, or have any information on them i.e Running costs, Tyre life, Chain and sprocket life.

Oh ya, and are they fun to ride Smile

Cheers

p.s Taking a test ride on it tomorrow.

Its a 2002 with 11k up for £3800, it has twin scorpions so thats one less bill.

Everyone I've ever spoken to says they are a blast to ride, a proper muscle bike.

apparantly the handeling is abit dodgy?
i love the big naked bikes like that, the Honda CB1200, Kawasaki ZRX1200, Yamaha XJR 1300?
wondered about going from an FZ6 to one or other of them.

I know a guy who has one (on a '51 plate, and Microns).

Sounds nice at least.

Next time I see him at work I'll ask, but not sure when he's on rota again.

Subject to finance being sorted, this babys mine. Just been for a test ride and its a fantastic bike. Handling is ludicrous for sych a large machine (i.e plenty good enough) and the amount of torque is ridiculous (92lb/ft at 5k)

Fingers crossed the finance goes through!

Cant wait

p.s Took the baffles out of the twin scorpions, and i can honestly say it was TOO loud, i had to put them back in.

The GSX1400 is absolutely awesome!

I'm riding a CB1300 at the moment and it is buckets of fun, a couple of years and i'll have the money for the GSX1400.

Muscle bikes ooze with coolness and character, they tick all my boxes, would have one over a sportsbike any day.

I shouldn't stereotype people if I were you. I know folks who ride long-wheelbase bikes that good riders will be very hard-pressed to stay with Wink
