Depends how many Ω's the speakers are and what the head unit can cope with, most are either 6Ω or 8Ω's.

Why bother?

They wont be any louder than a standard set of speakers in the car, they can only play what the head unit can give to them

Depends on the quality, better quality home speakers will give better sound. Most standard speakers start flapping with the bass at medium levels.

Most car head units are 8Ω, putting a 6Ω speaker on will drive the Amp harder. Short periods it may be OK but I wouldn't push it for very long as the head unit may get very hot and go pop! You can put higher Ω speakers on but not lower unless the Amp it built for it.
