Hi all,i have recently noticed my fj1200 3cv getting smokey on start up It doesnt smoke at all when it is warm but there are small tell tale signs of oil spatter on the rear.
Any ideas? I was hoping it wouldnt be the rings... ____________________ Check out our tackle shop on Facebook:

Hi all thank you very much for the replies.Sorry for the delay but my mate took a little slide down the road on saturday so we spent the weekend sorting his gixxer out
The smoke is not black,it is definitely oily smoke as it has a blue tinge but the bike still pulls like a train on steroids and as i said it is completely clear when warm, even under full throttle.
You say it may be stem seals? Is this an easy job or a head off/engine out job? She has done loads of miles but has been exceptionally maintained with regular servicing and oil changes every 4000 miles. ____________________ Check out our tackle shop on Facebook:
