Any body else seen the report on Yahoo and MCN about North Wales cop Richard Brunstrom decided it was a good idea to use accident scene photo's of a decapitated biker in his so called efforts to reduce accident rates- and without the permission of the dead man's family!! Shocked .

The reports are a bit mixed as yet- Yahoo says he used them in a "private" briefing to journalists and didn't realise the photo's would be printed, yeh right! MCN says he used them in a photo publicity campaign.

There are now calls for him to resign- I hope he is forced to and loses his pension rights to boot.

This man is either apparently not right in the head or is a very callous man who has never suffered the loss of a relative or close friend by natural causes , never mind in an accident. Evil or Very Mad

lets just say even his own force lower down the ranks despise him.
However as he quotes, the figures speak for themselves, since he has been in charge road deaths have fallen. this could also have something to do with the reduced traffic levels and lack of tourism coming to wales too if you were being sceptical.
that prat who's his sidekick is even madder. its like the third reiche

I think he's just annoyed at seeing tourist riders go down there, crash and then end up in a welsh hospital, meanwhile the road is closed while bits of the rider and their bike are scraped up off the road. Not many bikers live in northwales, but a LOT of bikers go there for a hoon!

From what I understand the pictures were used in a private press-conference - however he is now trying to blame the press for revealing what went on in the meeting Rolling Eyes

https://www.north-wales.police.uk/en/blogs/viewblog.asp?UID=1&CID=204

But they have now apologised for what it is worth -

From his own blog....."compassion, for the victims of road death and their families".

Yeh right, hence why he didn't ask for the families permission first. Who gives a shit whether it was a closed meeting? The father of the dead biker was trying to keep the gory details of the accident under control. Now some of his younger or more sensitive family members will probably learn of the horrific nature of the crash.

His life in the police force has been a litany of errors and it's about time he crawled under a stone and gave some credibility back to the police force.

Regards

everyone goto the north wales police web site and leave a message letting them know your feelings regarding the using of the pictures of that poor biker.

https://www.north-wales.police.uk

we all know that brunstrum has got it in for bikers. he thinks that the police bike section portray a bad image to the public. my arse, they are a crucial part of the force.

Q. why didn't he use a car victim in his blog ?
A. it's probably because when he was younger, he was bullied by someone who rode a bike.

If there is a serious accident and traffic is backed up, how the hell will an ambulance or police car get there? It's not as if they can filter.

TBH, i would like to see medic bikes. Those honda panniers can carry an awful lot - more than a basic first aid kit at least. Not only that, but the extra time could allow a quicker asessment of casualties, meaning that the following ambulance crew would have a more accurate picture of what is happening.

Or even better, we could use an air ambul--oh wait, the government won't pay for those. Smile
