I was having quite a good day today, Got sent home from work before i even started, so with a couple of hours to burn i go to james for a chat, buy some www.NUKB.com stickers and get him to stick em on for us. Go and do some odd jobs then visit my mum. Leave there and decide to go pop in at my mates, wash my bike so its looking all shiny and new. Go see my ex then ride to my mates. So everythings good, the day has been quite awesome. Too good one wonders. I fill up at ASDA with friend in tow on his SV. Leave and go down caxton road. Cane the first 2 corners at about 60 and thats it, ive had my fun. Slow down to about 35 - 40mph and ride to the end of the road.

NOW this is the turning point of my day.

I pull in my front brake and everythings fine, tap my back brake and the rear wheel locks up and slides to the right, followed imediately by snapping back to the left and trying to heave me off. It straighens itself out for a second but then throws its wheel left again. next thing i know ive landed hard on my back and am sliding down the road with my head up watching my bike grind along the floor shattering the screen and destroying the plastics. I sit up and take stock of the situation. My mates stoped and pulled over now, and the first thing i say is at least my micron is alright. We pull the bike upright and try and move it. But the gear rods bent and its stuck in 2nd or 3rd. So we put it on the path and i eat my sandwhich from asda. Ride it back and get it fixed.

We get it sorted and i ride down tom benson way on the way home, i fell something smack of my left leg, look down and ive got no fairing left. My backs sore and my shoulders are achin. I need some new fairings dammit.

Fenton

the sandwich is more important than fairings!
specially if its from asda... they're £1.80 for a reason!

hahah yeah, funnily enough i work in that McDonalds inside ASDA. Didnt realise you were local either gsxrmick, though i did see you up at houghton tower i think, met another local guy up there who was racingon the yellow SV. lives behind the back of booths tho i dont think hes registered on here.

I found the amout of people that drove past absouletly unfeckingbeliveable. And yes, i got up, looked at the bike, then my mate. Said at least i dint hit my head or my can, picked it up. Took the sandwhich out and started muchin. Thumbs Up

You dont need to stop at an accident scene unless you are involved in it.

No Hi-Jacking my thread! Laughing

And pwnt is right, you only have to stop if your involved. Would i be too naive in thinking that in todays day and age, at least one person would of stopped just to see if i was alright? I know i would. And i know a biker would of, does this just mean that all cagers are useless tw4ts?

NO, it simply means they aren't interested and have no requirement to stop.
Would you have stopped if a car had hit a wall and the driver was stood up or sat on his fat arse eating an ASDA sarny??

NO!

Bad luck with the crash, i did exactly the same myself the other day, but I was lucky enough to land on grass just before the bike stopped, so no damage to me or the bike.

I'm sorry but you really should have labled this thread 'NOT WORK SAFE' - with a file called 'Front Crack' - I just could not risk opening it.

Unlucky mate ...

At least you got lunch though Laughing ... I never realised it was a maccies inside an ASDA you worked, (i should really remember to laugh at you when your on msn again) ...

And erm yeah, them t0551ng pics arn't working like i told ya Razz

When u keep saying we should meet up, i think i best make it soon before you wipe it out again Razz ...

Anyway's get them copy parts ordered and change em ... Might look good with a complete new set of fairings and sell the one's which are ok (Old one's of course Laughing)

Good on ya for getting up and carrying on Thumbs Up

Cheers Bud.

[EDIT: Pics working Now Very Happy]

[EDIT 2: Doesn't look as bad as i was expected, got a few rust spots though mate Very Happy ... And it needs a damn good clean, lol ... Also check that what i think is the clutch cover for any movement and sheared bolts as a whole bike sliding down on that could bend the plastic or damage it]
