Friend of mine got rear ended by a car on the way home from work tonight. He just rolled into her at a junction she stopped he was looking right, down the road they were joining, and he bumped into the back of her bike. She kept it upright which was good.
What should i check to make sure the bike is all ok?
Many thanks
J

Subframe is probably the main thing, but it may not have hit that at all, probably only the rear wheel.

Check the chain is still in line with the chainguard and stuff like that I guess...

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Is she ok? might be a good idea to get a check up. My mate Marc shunted me coming up to lights whilst he was clocking some chick at a bus stop. No damage to the bikes but my back hurt for weeks.

I remember shunting a bike when I'd just passed my test. It was at a junction that has a lot of buses going over it, so a lot of oil and crap on the road. No excuse I know. Was only a light tap to the rear wheel.

Think my car had more damage!

But yeah, check that the wheel is aligned, check the swinging arm and bearings. Might be an idea to also check the rear shock mounts.

pretty much anything that the rear wheel connects to, and any thing connecting to that!

But like the others say, probably nothing to worry about.
