Never had a bike worth locking before so need to order a chain and lock, looking at:
https://www.almax-security-chains.co.uk/product.asp?s=Yk5fd412950&strPageHistory=category&numSearchStartRecord=0&strParents=69&CAT_ID=69&P_ID=123&btnProduct=More+Details

Is 1m generally enough? Will be locked out of site at home covered in rear garden or in shed. Will not be anchored as not allowed to install one. Nothing to lock it to, though if do take anywhere will 1m be long enough to lock to post, etc? Or do I need to pay the extra for another 50cm or so?

Cheers.

A metre should be fine for one bike. You don't want slack in it, if you have slack it makes it easier to cut/crop/ break by whacking with a hammer. But i guess you already knew that.

yeah should be fine, also dont have the chain lying on the floor that also makes it easy for someone to smack it with a hammer and chisel as they have something solid under the chain, if its in the air they cant do that.
