A mate has been threatening to buy a bike for years and hes finally got it together to do it! trouble is he's not haveing much luck..

He has a maximum of £500 which is more than enough, it needs to be japanese, not an off roader and tax/mot'ed and obviously roadworthy and running, cosmetics aren't important in the slightest

Dealers only seem to have shitboxes, he's not on ebay but thats being explored..

Anyone who has something or knows of something that fits the bill pm me please Wink

With a maximum of £500 you've ruled out all the 2-stroke sports bikes. I've never seen battered NSRs go for under £800. You might get an SR or a CG125 for that, but it'll be in a right state and your mate will instantly have to spend a couple of hundred for new tyres/brakes/fluids etc so if I were you I'd encourage your friend to up his budget considerably.

Thumbs Up

Not an option, hes not overly bothered about anything fast just reliable, cg's go for £400 on ebay in not bad condition, there's just not many in the area (perhaps because of the shitbox chinese cheapo ones are available for not far off that new and people go for them)

I wouldn't trust eBay as far as I can throw it.

A £500 bike may be reliable, but it may be totally unridable (safely) when you get it.

If you can find a T&T'd CG for that amount of money, with good tyres and brakes, I'd be seriously impressed.
