Just booked to do my Ron Haslam Track day in the last week of May, can't wait.

Anybody else doing this anytime soon?

I did one in April and it was absolutely awesome.
I got my knee down, and crashed the bike - all on the same day! (Thankfully only a lowside, at Coppice, and no real damage to me or the bike).

Even though I crashed, my instructor still gave me a mark of 93%, so I was chuffed! I'll see if I can find some photos.

We went in a group of 5, but one of use didn't ride on the day so there were 4 of us out on the track.
It was a little pricey, but definitely worth it.

Just remembered, I had already put them up on my Picasa album!

What happens after you bin it? Did you get a bollocking? Can you carry on?

After seeing those pics I'm quite tempted really, yes it's expensive and you get relatively little track time but it looks damn good.

I binned mine on the final outing of the day, so I didn't have the opportunity to go out even if they had let me - although due to the extent of the crash I doubt they would have let me out again.
However, one of the guys I went with lowsided at Melbourne earlier in the day, and the bike slid onto the grass with no damage at all (except for the crash bobbin). As there was no damage to the bike or himself, they let him out again.

I think it comes down to a few things, such as damage done, and the cause of the accident. If you're riding like a prat and trash the bike that'll be it for the day, if it was a genuine mistake (the other guy got his peg down and it caused the accident) then they'll be nice about it. Their policy states if you crash that's it - but I think they are much easier going than that.

As regards track time you don't get a lot (3x 20 minutes), but for a first time it's far more tiring than you think - I was quite surprised and I went away feeling very satisfied. The entire day was just first-class, and I would definitely recommend going.
The only problem is that now I just want more track time... I'm off to Oulton on Wednesday! Very Happy
