Whats 'happily'?
From this statement does the bike run as sweet as a nut below the 6k line?
What happens if you are in neutral and just rag the nuts out of the throttle, does the revs climb smoothly or refuse to rev throughout the full range? ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

its the same in neutral as it is in gear.
below 6krpm its fine and dandy, once i get there, say im accelerating, as soon as i get to around the 6k mark, its like hitting a rev limiter and if im in gear it lurches back.
the only thing i can put it down to would be either my exhaust not letting enough out, or my air filter not letting enough in, are these sensible theorys?
cheers

the alternator is fine i think, because when i rev the bike in neutral to say 3000rpm, the neutral light gets slightly brighter.
it goes past 6000rpm if i do it slowly, its medium to heavy acceleration that it has this problem. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. 1. Take out your spark plugs. If they are black the bike is running too rich, if they are white it's running too lean.
2. If the plugs are black it could be an indication that the plugs aren't sparking and thus igniting the fuel mixture properly. First thing to do then would be to clean or replace the spark plugs.
3. Your ignition coil could be breaking down, the coil would be able to handle a low frequency of charges but as soon as the frequency (and current) increases the coil can no longer support the current going through it. ____________________ Current bike: VTR1000F Firestorm. my sparks are fine, just checked them with the back of my haynes manual, 'normal' apparantly.
if it is the alternator, is it a big job to replace? and will it fit one from a 250 superdream like most of the other parts do?
cheers queers. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. In summery, mattsprattuk is a gobby little sh1tebag, dopehead tw4t, but sadly for all of us, he probably isn't THAT full of sh1te!!
