A decent big chunky (preferably thatcham approved) chain is your best bet in dettering bike thieves IMO... also worth using when you've got your alarm as well.

Put a little switch in between the low voltage side of the coil...and hide it !!
It will never start..

Put a mercury switch inbetween the battery + and the horn. !!
Some lowlife lifts bike up, horn sounds !
good idea to have a seperate horn under the seat, then they cant pull the wires, (you need a switch as well though to turn it off .

if you need to know how to do it mail me and I can send you a very simple diagram.

Park next to a very big dog !! and chain the dog to it, then with a long stick poke the dog in the eye !this will make the dog angry and want to eat people, how YOU get your bike back is your problem mate... lol Laughing

Grab the nearest small child to feed to the dog, keep him entertained just long enough for you to shoot off:)
I'd like the Diagram for the mercury switch!!
Post it!!!!!

I reckon U locks are better than chains... scooter theives got through my chain.

I go U lock on the back, disc lock on the front, alarm and immobiliser - the more hassle you make it for them to nick, the more likely they are to move on to the next bike.

the only way you can slightly delay the theft of your bike is to actually lock it to something unmoveable!!!

Disc locks do SFA to a real bike thief... gone in seconds!! Crying or Very sad

if you value your bike, get everything you can for it to prevent theft

its better to spend 10 mins fucking around locking up your bike to guarantee it will be there when you get back

The trainer person who I did my cbt with said that disc locks are pretty crap... for a start all they have to do it pick the bike up and stick it in a truck, they can work on the dfisc lock in the privacy of their own home!

if I were you I would go for the bike chain, they are far more obvious (more of a deterant for a theaf) Also a bike chain can be used to lock your bike to a lamp post or something which would make it VERY hard for a theaf.

Disc locks are a bit dodgy cause they are easily forgotten about and I know at least one person who has tried to ride off on his bike with the disc lock on! fucked up his bike quite badly.

I like the idea of the hidden switch, you could hide 3 or 4 all round the bike lol!

Other things to try:
Arrow Tape down the horn button - if they hotwire it then the horn blasts.
Arrow Take off a HT lead if you can get top em easy enuff. Stops the bike from runnin.
Arrow Put a small(like the ones u use to lock luggage zips tgether) padlock thru your chain. If they ride off then the chainll come off and lock.
Arrow Baby monitor in the garage - that way you'll hear them.
Arrow High power security light with PIR sensor inside your garage facing the door, when they enter the garage it lights the buggers up so everyone can see them but theyll be temorarily blinded.
