Hi. I own a 600 bandit which has started to play silly beggars lately. 1st problem occurs when bike is stood in warm garage or in the sun for more than a few hours, the fuel seems to evaporate from the fuel line. I noticed it a few weeks ago when the weather started to warm up, there was a faint whiff of juice about the place and the bike wouldn't / won't start unless I set the tap to prime for a few seconds first. All hoses and connectors are fine. 2nd problem is how easily the bike floods when starting from warm. No running problems at all when it's going, but unless the throttle is in exactly the right position - about 25% - it refuses to start and you smell the petrol from the can Bike has caught me out a few times when I've had the throttle at, say 24% or 26% If it floods, I walk away and try again 10 minutes later, it always fires. Are bandits known for this behaviour? Any connections between the problems i.e carb related? I'd live with it but afraid one day it will bite me in the ass! FYI less tan 12000, recently balanced, bottle of redex run through over last 1000 miles. Thanks. |
