Hey guys, I've had my Yamaha SR 125 for about 4 months now and I've noticed a an issue (i call it that because I hope it isn't a problem)

When i start the bike up, usually only when its cold, there is a strange noise that comes from the middle of the exhaust that sounds a bit like a scraping noise. This noise occurs when I rev the engine but it dissapears when the bike has warmed up.

The noise comes from, as I said, mid way down the exhaust, where ther is a metal plate screwed onto the exhaust (possibly to protect ur leg from heat I don't know)

Any ideas?

Cheers

it's just the cold baffle rattling against the insides of the exhaust. As soon as it gets warm and expands, it stops.

No need to worry.

As long as it ALWAYS stops when the bike is warmed up then don't worry about it pal , the only time to worry is if it doesn't stop when the bike is warm. Thumbs Up

The heat could be causing a small component to expand, perhaps resolving the issue when its hotter.
