30 quid for a set of road pilot tyres?

my neighbour has just told me a guy at work ( he's a bus driver ) can get me a set of mich. road pilot tyres for £30!!!!

this seems stupidly cheep to me, as i was quoted closer to £170 from a tyre place ( and thats including my dads trade reduction ).

I dont know if i should trust my life or the saftey of the bike to these tyres....but £30 is alot less than £170......

what do you all think? Give it a go, or no frigging way!

they gotta be part worn? I got a pair of rennsports from Cadwell - scrubbed in for £20! Get them if theyre that cheap!

i dont suppose theres any way of telling if there knicked? ( of course not...) i dont want to be riding round on tyres of some poor sods knicked pride n joy.

pre scrubbed would be cool, as long as theve got enough tread for a few K miles, i'll snap them up.

If and when they turn out to be shit, fork out for a pair of the new Bridgestone BT-021's I have the same bike as you (mines a Red 97 Bandit 6N), My god do they just grip and grip... I have engine bars on mine and cant lean any further, these tires are making my scratch my chromosexual engine bars ...

The life of them well i only done 1000 miles ish on them so far but the wear is looking good... did i mention the grip... even from cold... its ridiculous...
