Interesting one. The B3ta newsletter had a top tip this week; apparently if you get a speeding ticket through, you can send them a cheque for £61, instead of the usual £60. They will then send you a cheque for £1, at least they should.

When you receive this £1 cheque, tear it up. Legally they can't add the points to your licence until all the financial stuff has been sorted out. So you will have paid the fine, but the points will never be added to your licence.

It's an interesting theory, I wonder if it works? Anyone care to give it a whirl, be the BCF guinea pig? Mr. Green

Sad Knew it was too good to be true, loopholes are harder and harder to find, especially when it comes to speeding tickets!

The fact you have not cashed the cheque will not stop them, they can prove it has been sent out and that will be enough. If you are daft enough to think it will work try it....
You could argue non reciept, i'm sure that they would soon send via recorded delivery or action a refund direct to your cheque account, very easy as they have all the details they need on your cheque.....
If enough muppets do it then they will decide that the fine's will have to rise as people are more than happy overpaying.... Rolling Eyes

Hi

Also if you have failed to accept the fixed penalty then the case will proceed to court.

This "get out" is a load of *****
