Hi, i need some help please, i have a 1990 GPZ400. last week the great people on this web site helped me out setting the carbs up as it was running like a dog. I got the bike running right and was over joyed at the fact i could finally get out and ride this bike after a month getting it road worthy, i then had to leave it outside (covered up) one night and it rained, the next day, nothing the bike wont turn over it wont even click but the battery is new and is fully charged, all the lights work and everything seems fine, fuses ect ect but it just wont turn over its as if the bike is immobilised. Anyone got any ideas please or tell me what to check?

Make sure the kill switch is on.
Make sure the side stand is up all the way.Pull in the clutch and try it.
If it still does not work stick it into second gear and pull it backward a bit
to turn the starter and try it again.

Paddy.

There are several posibilities. Short out the 2 big terminals on the starter relay (probably behind the LHS rear panel) with a screwdriver. That will narrow it down.

If the starter turns you have a problem somewhere between the starter relay and the starter button.

If there's still no life from the starter either your battery terminals or the large connections on the starter relay are dirty (remove them and clean them up with a big of sand paper even if they look clean and dry).
