I recently bought some bike stuff from an online shop.
Anyway, long story short, it arrived today but, for various reasons, is going to be sent back.

Now there's nothing wrong with the stuff; I just want a refund.
I know that I'm entitled to a full refund during the 14-day 'cooling off' period.

Problem is, this company wants to charge me a 20% restocking fee—about 30 quid—because the items aren't faulty.

"Full Refund" means only one thing in my book. Is a restocking fee actually legal, especially if bought over the net?

Thanks guys

What did the T&C of sale say?

They are only legally obliged to refund for faulty or damaged goods under the Sale Of Goods Act.

If you agreed to terms that say they cam make this charge if you return the stuff for anything outside your statutory rights then yes, it's perfectly legal.

I believe that they are entitled to charge a restocking fee. I think in the Sale of goods Act it says that they can charge a "reasonable" amount or something lik ethat.
