Latest edition of "Dealer News" has made its way into my house today, with some interesting stats on PTW registration data.

Figures given are for Jan 2007 cos they work a quarter in arrears.

First some good news, overall registrations of new PTWs are up 6% on the same period last year.

I wonder if you can guess what the most-registered PTW of the year so far is? With nearly 3 times as many new registrations as any other bike?

Winner gets a cookie........ those of you that I know are in the trade please keep for a little bit longer, don't spoil the fun...........

CBR125 for sure, when i went to pick up my FMX650 the chap i was dealing with pointed to the 2 CBR125's waiting to be picked up for the same family

i will go with - Yamaha R6, Honda Fireblade, GSXR1000, R1, CBR125, GSXR750, CBR600, GSXR600 and in that order!!!

Jan 2007 saw over 300 YZF R6 newly registered.

Bit over optimistic on the others though Wooly.........

Biggest leap (although none of them made the top sellers for their cc) was in adventure/supermoto bikes, sales of those increased by 46% compared to last year.

Most popular 2nd hand bikes searched for in the same period (figures from Autotrader) were CBR600 and GSXR600, closely followed by the R6 again.

They reckon a lot of dealers registered them as demonstrator bikes as well with it being a new model, which may have pushed the figure up a bit.
