Okay so I'm interested in buying a write off (or two) and keeping good bits / making use of damaged bits for track riding. The only problem is, where on earth do you go for this kind of thing? I guess auctions are the key but I've no idea how to even find a local one.
Anyone done this sort of thing before?

Yeah I've looked, the only problem is that eBay just doesn't have everything I'd like. If I could get my hands on a cat D / C write off I'd be laughing.

The back of Bike trader, in the breakers section. That is second only to eBay. Thing with eBay is you have to have patience. If you're like me, you'll get annoyed after not finding anything suitable after 2 days and just buy something on impulse. Laughing

Cheers for the tip, I'll go have a look. I'm restraining myself from an impulse buy, but it's tough!

Well bike trader the www version has tons of written off Cat C/D bikes included in the normal listings , there are a ton of crap pilots these days judging by how many wrecked bikes I've seen.

Yeah, i bought a random swingarm a coiuple of days ago because I was bored. I shouldn't have won it for 99p! Laughing

ebay has a few Cat B's as well, but you'll deffo need to strip it down to check the frame is straight and get it crack tested.

Ebay seems to be the only place you can get something worth while these days. There are loads of dedicated salvage yards around but the prices they charge are just silly. A lot of the time they are asking more for a damaged write off than you'd pay for an undamaged one if you shopped around.
