I thought I'd have a bit of a rant this time I'm afraid.

I've had a very nice chat with a policewoman and two people from the dvla today. They said they were checking all the bikes parked outside my flat for tax, but I'm not too certain this is true. Since, these days the adverts always state they check for tax electronically and no-one can get away with it anymore!

I know for a fact that there is a woman on my road (well her garage is anyway) already complained previously and tried to get my old car towed away as she felt it made the road look unsightly! My car was completely legal and I used it a fair old amount of time. Granted is was painted with chalk board paint, but I did always leave a piece of chalk on it so everyone could add their own little thing on it!

I've heard a rumour that someone has started a petition against mine and my friends' bikes being parked outside. I don't understand how this could actually be listened to. We are very quiet compared to other residents and we are always polite to our neighbours. If there was a genuine problem and someone came to us advising us of this we would have no problems helping them out. I've heard absolutely nothing from anyone.

I am very annoyed with this and I'm contemplating fighting back. As I don't know who started it, it's a bit hard. The only thing I can think of is having a full on party inviting everyone I know who owns a bike and stating they all have to bring their bikes with them. So far I'm up to 30 possibles. I wonder if the person complained if the entire street was full of bikers. Thinking

Where are you located? If it's near I'll come Very Happy

At my parent's block of flats, people are banned from owning bikes! Madness, I tell thee!

Public road or private property?

You own it or does a housing assosciation?

If it's your private property (and in England/Wales), throw them off your property until they come back with a warrant.

Keep a record of all such incidents.

Just another curtain twitcher with nothing better to do than whinge. I live next door to a pair of them, they just cannot help themselves when it comes to causing trouble for other people. We've learnt to just ignore them and not get wound up, where as the guy on the other side of them is currently out on bail Laughing

If you wind her up she WILL call the fuzz, and they aren't going to believe some bikers over some poor defenceless old woman (bitter experience!)

If she continually harrasses you, present the council with your record of times and dates of ocurrances and apply for an ASBO banning her from frivolously reporting you to the police.

The words you are looking for are "Fear, alarm or distress". The latter seems most appropriate to me.

And the kittens. For the love of God don't forget about the kittens.

That's a real crappy situation you're in ratter. It'll be a curtain twitcher who's decided they don't like you for a stupid reason, like your rat bike.

If you ever walk past someone from your street, greet everyone with a cheery smile and 'Hello'. The one who can't look you in the eye is probably them Laughing
