Right, I got a very decent pair of combat boots which I use when riding my motorbike, problem I find is that when it rains, water leaks into the boots right at the laces. My waterproof over trousers don't do jack for them. Is there something on the market that would cover the laces part of the boot without making me look like a pillock Razz

Some people have called me cheap for not just buying a £40 pair of motorcycle boots. But if I can find an alternative then i'd like to take it. I've attempted using gaffer tape on the inside of the boots tongue to stop water from directly flowing in. It works about 50%, but with the wet fabric the water does slowly trickle into the boot after about 15minutes of riding in the rain.

I'm sure you can get gators for your boots. I remember seeing them on some outdoor pursuits sites, and even one or two bike site... but can't seem to find the links right now...

Should've bought proper British combat boots. The tongue is stitched in all the way to the top. Wink

Gaiters from any hillwalking shop would seem to fit the bill.

Stinkwheel's right, and mine only cost a tenner. probably cheaper than the gaiters too.
