The comet 125 and 250 don't weigh much less than the 650 if I remember. However at 5'8" I'm sure you should be fine.
Still wouldn't recommend buying one unless it was really cheap, though . |

A mate had a good look around at the Aquila 650 at the NEC lastyear and the recent Barton Bike Night.
He likes his Virago but wants something a little more flexible. Only poor thing I could see is the frame welding looked a bit poor compared to some of the other makes.
However, as a complete package it appears to offer a lot more than any of the established names.
Only other possible fly in the ointment is how long they'll last. He uses his bike for a regular commute so it isn't just a Sunny Sunday user.

the main point of worry for me on Hyosung bikes is the steel frames. i'm not sure how they'd stand up to serious abuse. still, i've not seen one of the current models affected by frame rust...

Yeah, there's theoretical competition. If you're buying new at that price i'd hardly call a bike £700 more expensive (SV650) competition.
There's been no reports of frames failing at all. Unlike a certain rather posh Suzuki litre sportsbike you might have heard about ____________________ Bikes: too many, too much for one man to maintain anyway. |
