Prelude
Pembrey: Never been or raced there all completly new to me. No practice Sad. Very few spaces for practice day. First outing would be qualifying :S.

Qualifying: 7 laps to do my best, started off doing 1:15's but on the last lap managed to squeeze into the 1:10's, which put me 15th on the grid. No excuses as most of the people hadn't done the practice day either.

Was a really difficult track to get to grips with, I guess it just takes me long to ride faster.

Race 1:
15th on the grid. Great start but went backwards after the first few corners. Was still trying to figure out the track, mad lots of mistakes especially gear selection. Finished in 12th, 9th Rookie. Which is where I should have been lap times wernt impressive and was still off the pace.

Race 2:
12th on the grid, another good start in 10th after the first lap, and managed to make 2 more places up to 8th, 7th rookie. Managed to get my lap times down, which were now on par with the top 6 and started to actually get a feel of the track and sort my gears out

Race 3:
8th on the grid. Wet race, very wet race. Got a great start again but lost a few places in the 1st lap went back down to 7th. Made a few places up to 5th. Unfortunately I was given a 10 second penalty for a jump start. This dropped me from 5th to 8th, but only dropped 1 rookie place down to 6th. Managed to get 3rd fastest lap in that race, so deffinatly on the pace by now.

Race 4:
8th on the grid. Knew I had to get a good start to get a tow on the leaders who I knew I could run with. Managed to get into 4th by the second 3rd lap. Was catching up 3rd place eying him up for an overtake when I lost the front on a left hander. The bike just slid away from me and we both went sliding into the runoff. No warning or anything just tipped it in, next thing I knew I was on me arse. Was the focus of a few "grass cutting" jokes from the commentators.

Was pretty certain that I was going to get a 3rd, as the guy I was catching was to get a 10 second penalty for a jump start, and I put the 4th fastest lap of the race in, on only my 2nd lap. Obviously frustrated at losing another podium place, and also the fact it took me longer to get on the pace than everyone else did.

Lyyden again on 16th/17th of june, looking forward to doing a track that I have already raced on and will be nice to see how much I have improved during the season.

Points tables arnt up yet, should be either today or tomorrow but I think I may have lost a few places.

Will try and get some pics up laters.

Cheers

Luke

Yeah I was watching on mylaps. The jump start sucks the big one mate.

Still, some solid results. Where do you stand overall in the rookies?
