A motocross bike is a motorbike with long suspension travel, a large front wheel and knobbly tyres for riding as fast as you can along rough tracks.

A trials bike is a very lightweight motorbike with no seat and and a powerful engine for riding very slowly over the top of large obstacles and up cliffs without putting your feet down.

Note: You have to declare the Yamaha DT50 as an import on your insurance (I think). The CBR50 is nice, as is the Aprilia RS50, but that isn't the sort of bike you are looking for I don't think - its a sports replica.

my personal thing to do is buy a real cheap 50 for when you 16 that will get you about then wait till you 17 and spend the extra money on a decent 125 or do your 33hp test, i did the worst thing of spending 2400 pounds on a motorhispania rx50 which was a good bike but once you get older and want a bigger bike and find you cant afford one then it can get a bit depressing lol

Your my height and have the same budget as i did, i got a Derbi Senda 50, it's been pretty reliable and manual is much more fun than auto IMO.

The Gilera RCR/SMT's are basically the same bike, so be on the look out for something like that, '03 ones go for about £600 maybe less. Thumbs Up

Thank you everyone for the help.

I am now deciding between Derbi senda, Yamaha DT50, Gilera RCR,Gilera SMT, Aprilia rx50.

If anyone knew any rough prices for any of these I would be grateful- preferably no older then 2000.

Have a look on ebay to get a rough idea of what they're going for.

Most of them are the same bike.

SMT is basically a Senda, RCR basically an MX, the only different one is the DT.

For you a good idea is either the APRILIA Rs50 or the YAMAHA Tzr50.

These are both good options.

Also they are geared and will give you great expirience for when you move up to a larger capacity motorcycle.

Aye, but he wants a supermoto bike, or moto style bike.

The ones your looking at are all good ones Thumbs Up Good Luck......Remember to check how much insurance for each bike will be.
